Advanced Clinical Massage

Massage, but not as you know it. Rather than focussing on an input – sports massage, aromatherapy massage, etc – Clinical Massage is outcome driven – what would you, the client, like to achieve as a result of your treatment, how would you like to feel? Using this information, along with a full consultation, each treatment is tailored on the day, using a variety of soft tissue techniques – including myofascial release, trigger point therapy, stretching, and sometimes the use of heat or cold. This is no ‘one size fits all’ approach.

This approach has shown to be more than usually successful in the treatment of pain conditions of many types, including lower back pain, neck and shoulder pain, frozen shoulder, RSI, carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar fasciitis, headache and migraine, TMJ dysfunction, hip issues and pretty much any other soft tissue related issue you care to name. This treatment tackles the root of soft tissue originating pain to decrease discomfort, increase mobility and enhance relaxation.

Do you feel pain, discomfort or just not ‘quite right’ after surgery? These sensations can be experienced even years after the superficial incision has healed. Scarring, even that left by laparoscopic surgery, can be extremely disruptive to the underlying tissues, resulting in adhesions, lumpiness, restricted movement and even pain. ScarWork is more than just a series of techniques – this treatment remodels and integrates the scar tissue, reducing adhesions, improving mobility and often has surprising results on the appearance of the scar. It is gentle, comfortable and soothing. All kinds of scars can benefit, including c-sections, lumpectomies and mastectomies, spinal fusions, surgical scars, non-surgical scars and even cosmetic scars.

TMJ Therapy™

According to the WHO, 1 in 4 of us suffer from issues with our TMJ or jaw. If you suffer from pain in the jaw or face, an inability to fully open or close your mouth, ear ache, difficulty chewing, clicking of the jaw, headache and migraine, sinus issues, a tic in the eye, blurry vision, difficulty swallowing, clenching or grinding of the jaw, or unrelenting toothache – and your doctor or dentist has ruled out any underlying condition – you may very well be suffering from TMJ dysfunction. We can help! Using a series of techniques developed over 20 years by a dental nurse, administered by a therapist with a skilled and sensitive touch, many of these symptoms can be alleviated.

Aromatherapy Massage

The gold standard of relaxation massage. Using a personally selected blend of pure essential oils, and massage techniques designed to calm the sympathetic nervous system – the bit responsible for our adrenalin responses, and the bit that gets a bit overenthusiastic in this crazy world we live in – and with pressure of touch tailored to your preference, this full body treatment will leave you calmer, less anxious, and more relaxed in both mind and body.

Hot Stone Fusion™

You would be forgiven for thinking that Hot Stone Massage is just the placement of warm stones on and around the body — because it is impossible to capture the dynamic nature of this treatment in the kind of still photograph populating the internet. Hot Stone Fusion is so very much more than this. The water-heated stones are used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, and can be used in a variety of creative ways to blend clinical massage techniques with relaxation strokes to create a truly unique and effective treatment. Hot Stone Fusion combines luxury and therapy in the most effective way.
